Built by Operators, for Operators
GentryWorks didn't start as a marketing agency. It started inside a window tint shop in Indianapolis. Adam, the founder, owns and operates Tint Galaxy — an auto, residential, and commercial tinting business that's been running since 2009. He also operates car wash businesses. For years, he was a paying client of marketing agencies.
The experience was consistent and frustrating. Agencies that couldn't explain what they were doing in plain language. Reports full of impressions and clicks that didn't translate to phone calls. Recommendations that clearly came from generic playbooks, not from anyone who understood what it actually means to run a service business — the seasonality, the staffing, the margin pressure, the fact that a bad week of calls isn't an abstract metric, it's a real problem.
So Adam stopped outsourcing it. He learned SEO, built the technical stack, figured out how Google Business Profile actually works, and built a marketing infrastructure for his own businesses that was grounded in what actually drives phone calls — not what looks good in an agency deck.
Other local business owners started noticing. They asked what he was doing, whether he could help them, whether he'd consult on their marketing. GentryWorks is the answer to all of those questions — a formal structure for deploying the same systems that are working in his own businesses for other operators who are tired of paying agencies that don't understand them.
